Join us to celebrate & uplift Indigenous peoples & voices on Indigenous Peoples Day in Newton, MA.

All are welcome to this free, outdoor, family-friendly, Indigenous-led, volunteer-run event to enjoy great music, check out cultural dances & presentations, support local Indigenous vendors & non-profits, & eat delicious food. Rain or shine.​

Hiawatha Jon Brown, a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe, is one of the longest-serving Tribal Council members with over 35 years of service & has chaired the Narragansett Indian Powwow Committee for over 40 years.
Tokalli Macehualli is a danza Mexikah family working to develop a foundation of teaching & learning their tradition, Mexicayotl. They dance in resistance to ongoing colonization & genocide of Indigenous people.
Tierra Fértil promotes Puerto Rican Bomba & preserves practices inherited from elders & ancestors. Their goal is to provide tools for preserving, developing, & enjoying La Bomba Puertorriqueña.
Sarah Harris is the Vice Chairwoman of the Mohegan Tribe, serving her second term on the Tribal Council after a career as an attorney & government official focused on advancing Native American rights & sovereignty.
Pauochau Nohkunnawai Waupi "She Who Dances on Night Winds" Brown-Paul is a Narragansett woman whose family honor their culture by sharing, participating, & teaching together, including through song & dance.
Liz "Coldwind" Santana-Kiser is an Elder, Council Woman, & Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Chaubunagungamaug Band of Nipmuck Indians.
Eastern Cedar Singers is a group of Indigenous women from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe who sing in their native language, using the power of song to unite & uplift communities.
Nancy "Daughter of the Redtail Hawk" Brown-Garcia is the Chief Historical Deputy of the Narragansett Indians & has exhibited her wampum & beadwork—the smallest beadwork in the world—in Paris, France.
